The Bio of Julin Martin
From the time I was born in 1993, I created a lot of childhood memories in my home city known as Detroit; which I then later moved to Atlanta in 1999. As I continued to get older I found myself more fascinated with technology and science. Throughout high school I made sure I was able to take up an engineering class, which was very enjoyable. In that class I also joined a robotics group with members of the class; this was a lot of fun, and so I decided I would go to Southern Poly Tech to take up a field called “Mechatronics.” This was a subject that was mostly considered to be 60% electronics engineering, 30% mechanical engineering, and 10% computer engineering all in one. During my last few years in high school I also began making music with two friends of mine, and developed a deep love for the art and creative process of it. This also made a shift in my plans as I began searching for a different type of college other than one that would deal with electronic engineering. So I ended up taking a sharp turn into a college known as the Art Institute of Atlanta, where I started taking up Audio Engineering instead. I found this field of study was more suitable for me – being that it is still a form of engineering and merges both the knowledge of sound based equipment/technology and the use of science for the sake of understanding sound. Now I am dedicated to reconstructing sound waves for the purpose of sound design and reconfiguring the structure of music – primarily Hip Hop – to give something other than your typical, which is a brighter/positive form of music. As of 2012, I am now currently signed to an indie record label known as Living Soul Music, as their flagship artist (first artist). The label also plays a great role as I continue creating music, growing as an artist, and as I polish my songwriting skills. Also, during college I realized how much I loved the process of creating new sound atmospheres and sound effects for movies, TV shows, and short films. After any sound design replacement project which I encountered throughout my school, I noticed that I would always out do my last project and even amaze others with the level of layers, depth, and detail I put into them. With sound design, I found myself more drawn to creating for animated films. Though I am great with real live films, it is just a little more enjoyable to me when sound designing for 3D animations. My goal is to continue to be the first to become a well-known influential artist while balancing the tittle of one who will become a highly appreciated sound designer in the audio realm; I am Julin Martin.
